ARTIST STATEMENT

In my artistic practice, I employ a combination of acrylic and oil paint mediums to create painterly and impressionistic works of art. My focus often revolves around capturing the essence of everyday objects in still life compositions, as well as the familiar landscapes close to home. I am particularly drawn to historic buildings imbued with character, where the passage of time is palpable, as well as portraiture and life drawing which allows me to delve into the intricacies of human expression.

Central to my artistic ethos is the celebration of the informal and the creation of a space of comfort within my art. I am captivated by the beauty inherent in mundane and simple objects; from the subtle hues of a browning pear to the rustic charm of freshly picked grapes nestled in a basket. Through my work, I aim to elevate the ordinary, inviting viewers to pause and find solace in the overlooked details of everyday life.

In essence, my art serves as a testament to the beauty found in the simplicity of life, weaving together threads of tradition, history, and personal reflection to create works that resonate with both the eye and the soul.
